Tasks: Listen to recordings and answer questions about main ideas, details, function, speaker’s purpose, and attitude.
3. Speaking
Content: Tasks that require speaking about familiar topics and tasks that involve reading, listening, and then speaking.
Number of Tasks: 4 tasks.
Duration: 17 minutes.
Tasks:
1. Independent Speaking Task: Express an opinion on a familiar topic.
2. Integrated Speaking Tasks: Combine reading and listening, then respond.
4. Writing
Content: Tasks that involve writing based on reading and listening material, and writing an essay.
Number of Tasks: 2 tasks.
Duration: 50 minutes.
Tasks:
1. Integrated Writing Task: Read a passage, listen to a recording, and write a response.
2. Independent Writing Task: Write an essay expressing an opinion or explaining a choice.
Scoring
Each section: Scored on a scale of 0-30.
Total score: Combined score ranges from 0-120.
Format
Internet-Based Test (iBT): The most common format, administered online at designated testing centers.
